I am writing newsletter of #weeknotes of starting the Atelier of What’s Next (What’s needed, What’s ready? What can we do? What next?). For my rationale for starting the Atelier see here.
I'm afraid that this week just gone I had a back spasm from Mon to Sat. This rather knocked me out, except for one project. So, a rather shorter WeekNotes this time. Sorry. But more to come in the next edition.
This week covers:
Climate Group strategy workshop preparation
Climate Group strategy workshop preparation
Step: 2/DISCOVERING-4/DELIVERING. Theme: Climate. Org strategy.
Next week I’ll be facilitating two days of strategy development for the Climate Group, an international non-profit that exists “to drive climate action. Fast.” This week, in preparation, I’ve been interviewing key people in the organisation (which has, for various reasons, taken up most of the week). Obviously, all of that is confidential and I can’t share here.
Back in w/c 22 May I wrote that consulting projects wouldn’t be in the Atelier. Engaging with the Climate Group has caused me to revise this, because it is a high ambition organisation and it is trying to be at the frontier of driving climate action.
As such, in the words of last week’s introduction and invitation, the Atelier is being a studio for the Climate Group to work on its interventions that accelerate shifts to a better world. At the least, this work is a chance for me to learn how to bring some of the leading-edge academic thinking on deep transitions and more into real use.
Also, a chance to co-create some cutting-edge practice about how to be a successful global NGO in the coming years, and a follow on from reflections on driving global climate regulation at Findhorn in July.
WHAT NEXT. Run the workshop next week. Then landing (even if just for me) the wider implications for other high-ambition organisations.
